Walking with Saint Cuthbert
Are you longing to connect deeper with the stillness in nature or with the sacredness of place?
Would you like to follow in the footsteps of Northumbria's patron Saint and find your own inner place of Divine connection ? Join us in a 5-day travel through hills, and along rivers; connecting three churches, old stories and sacred poems; finding quiet reflection in walking and eco-exercises; establishing new relationships with a small group of like-minded people; following the rhythms of nature and having wild soul experiences on a wilderness campsite.

The Trail
Spread over three days we will walk the Three Churches Trail(*), from Elsdon to Bellingham, Northumberland (UK). This trail (total 14 miles/22.5 km) brings us through a beautiful landscape of hills, woodlands, meadows and river banks, while connecting three historic churches all dedicated to Saint Cuthbert, the patron saint of Northumbria. During our walks we will meet parts of his life and his own journey, through nature and storytelling.
The Program
We're offering you a guided program of (silent) walks, eco-therapeutic exercises, campfire- and storytelling circles, and deep soul reflections through solitude and journaling. Some of our moments will be group sessions, while other exercises might be done alone. During any of these times we will try to hold a safe space for your own personal journey. And all of this embedded in natural surroundings and good vegetarian food. (Vegan options available)
The Campsite
Our shared accommodation will be on Wild Northumbrian, a campsite in a very natural setting, with breathtaking scenery and dark, starry skies. We'll have eight camping places divided over a hut, a yurt and a bell-tent. Compost toilets and wild showers are available, as well as common facilities with heated flooring. We will have the exclusive use of the campsite which gives us lots of space, silence and solitude to connect with our deepest selves.
(*) Due to the character of this pilgrimage walk, containing elevated, uneven, wet, slippery, rocky and otherwise challenging terrain, we regret to tell that this week is not suitable for people with lesser mobility. Please contact us when you're in doubt.

About us
Your guides on this pilgrimage will be Arno & Rolinke Bremer, originally Dutch, but currently living in the Scottish Borders. Divided over the two of them they have a long background in walking and listening to the land, Celtic Wheel and seasonal rhythms, (green) counselling, arts and ecotherapy, and eco-spiritual coaching.
(Although our values are based on Celtic Christianity, this pilgrimage is open for people with any faith and none.)
